The most recent series of drawings are called Natural Instinct, which are interpretive studies of the growth, decay, and regenerating cycles of natural forms within the environment. While mostly observational in structure, these drawings are also counterintuitive, in that the final "drawn" image tends to deviate from the natural, and environmental forms take on a sometimes different and unintended persona. While materials utilized are basic, the transformative nature of application is very important to the process. Most of the drawings tend to be a mixed combination of gesso, charcoal and/or dry pastels, India ink/drawing ink, contè crayons, possibly some waxy materials (china markers, colored pencils), lots of erasure and tonal blending.
